SSAA Q39 Branch – Shooting Range:

Patience: Please have patience when waiting for a reply to your emails. There is only one volunteer to answer emails and phone calls, research and reply to your queries, check booking dates and Range Officer availability, mow the Range, car park and around the Covered Firing Line, order stockave not, sort out challenges, research Grants and submit applications.

The other volunteer is emptying rubbish bins, picking up rocks from the Range (please do not use rocks to hold your targets), paint gongs, re-suspend gongs, replace or remove target frames, whipper snip, hose ablution block, blow grass from Covered Firing Line, order and fit parts, also research Grants, request quotes, organise workers and take care of all the other incidentals that keep this Range a welcoming place to attend.

Gun Show: We are frequently asked for the dates of the Qld Gun Shows. The Maryborough Arms Fair will be held at the Maryborough Show Grounds on April 27 9am-4pm and 28 9am-4pm.

Annual Range Pass: The financial year is 01.07.2023-30.06.2024. Renewals have been emailed to current members. If you have not received your renewal, please contact us.

If you would like to hold an Annual Range Pass which offers a discount Range fee per shoot, please contact us.

Targets: We have absorbed the price rises on the paper targets for seventeen years, but we can no longer do this. Paper targets are now $3.00 each.

Contact Us for Bookings: We have become aware that our mobile phone is being advertised as a way to contact us. Please do not send a SMS or call our mobile as there are no mobile phone towers in this area, so we cannot receive your messages or calls. Email is best.

Range Availability: The Range Availability calendar is updated each time there is a change.

Firearm Safety Courses: For bookings or information please contact the Course Instructors on 0438826202. The next Course will be 13 April followed by 15 June.

Staplers: We will no longer supply staple guns at the Range. It is a huge expense, and they are frequently broken. Please bring your own means (stapler or tape) to attach targets to the supplied backing boards.

Grants: We are very grateful to Sports and Recreation, and also to the Qld Rural & Industry Development Authority for several Grants.
